What is a 'Film Therapy Workshop'?

I've been facilitating inquiry and heartful gatherings through Film Therapy since 2017. Using different themes to bring about different facets of our understanding and effectively utilising arts based therapy at its core.

Each theme brings about a different side to our experience and also unlocks something deeper inside our minds. Enabling dialogue deeper that bring about transformational change in our behaviours and attitudes individually and organisationally.

Here's a general 'Film Therapy Workshop' proposal

Using the medium of Film to discover the beauty in and around us!

What is it About

We all love movies, we are fascinated by them, we embody them, imitate them, and are entertained by them.

However have we ever thought that they can be used as a medium of therapy, of discovery, transformation and uplifting ourselves?

There are so many movies that naturally give us life lessons; so many characters and their character arcs that help us rediscover the essence and beauty of life.

This is an endeavour that attempts to rejuvenate, bring us alive, and contemplate on some of the deeper aspects of ourselves, using the medium of Film.

(example) Theme:

Growth and Resilience - We will together look at and go deeper into building these shifts and what they mean for each of us. How to galvanise our energy, focus and determination. Optimise resources while being flexible to outer conditions. Cultivating a ‘Can Do’ mindset and ensuring progress. What would it take to constantly evolve transform and create a cohesive results-based attitude for ourselves.

Format

Clips from interesting movies related to the Theme will be played and we will look into where it corresponds in our life and what shifts they bring about through introspection, dialogue and sharing. Along with certain fun and contemplative exercises that aid Self Awareness.

Structure

There’ll be a period of reflection, deeper dialogue, sharing and discussion at the end of either a clip or a series of clips similar in nature for about 20 min. This is to enable invigoration, and rumination. The overall design is created in such a way that we viscerally share and process the depth and emotions the film clips made them experience and how are they applicable to our lives and learning!

Methodology

Rohit has a deep understanding of the ontological coaching approach (focused on the being) and the subtler nuances of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Gestalt (Feeling centric approach) among many other approaches. Lately he has also been integrating these with many other creative methods of investigation such a film therapy, poetry, creative writing, games etc.

Expected Outcomes

Duration:

2-3 hours.

Charges:

Upon discussion
